TIBCO Spotfire X vs Tableau
Who uses TIBCO Spotfire and who uses Tableau? Have you ever wondered what the differences are?
I found this article that compares the both, it doesn't do the full compare but it's a good starting point. One area that wasn't discussed was spatial capability, I have done a lot of location based insight over the last few years using Tableau and it's been a good introduction but I always felt it could be better.
One of the key differentiators between the two products is the Map layer feature in Spotfire. This is awesome, you can have multiple map layers/sources in the same visualisation. For example you can overlay shipping routes or store performance on the same dashboard as household performance. Another is the ability to have data streaming live into Spotfire. So for example you could have live vehicle updates pushing back realtime insight to support your business.
